Carlock, Theresa

Hello and Welcome!

My name is Theresa Carlock, and I am excited to be your child’s teacher this school year.  I have been an educator almost 20 years both in Ysleta and El Paso Independent School District.  I taught in bilingual elementary, adult education and currently business education teacher here at Morehead M.S.  Prior to teaching, I worked in an assortment of administrative areas: with the federal government, law firms, manufacturing and in a pharmaceutical corporation.   I am a native El Pasoan.  I graduated from Park University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science in Management Human Resources.  I received my certification in Business Secondary Education from Texas A&M in 1998.

I’ve been married over 20 years.  My husband and I are both business teachers in the  El Paso ISD.  We have two children, both of them graduated this 2014 year.  My daughter graduated from Coronado High School in June and my son graduated from the New Mexico State University with a degree in Industrial Engineering.    I bring the business experience to the classroom and work to prepare my students for the business world of technology.  Keyboarding is the foundation skill required for effective computer usage.  Keyboarding skills are essential to survive not only in future high school and college courses, but in today's job market.

The course objective also includes career preparation.  Therefore, students will attain a better understanding of the job seeking process, the world of work, and importance of education and training.  Career terms, decision-making activities and performance appraisals in the work place will be introduced and examined.   I’m looking forward to another great year in career exploration and business education.  If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at (915) 231-2140 or email me at tgcarloc@episd.org.
